Nyssus coloripes (Orange-legged Swift Spider), 2021.

Nyssus coloripes or Orange-legged Swift Spider, is a gorgeously patterned black and white spider, with bright orange front legs. These wonderful Australian spiders have can move very quickly, or swiftly, hence the name 'Swift Spider'.

Despite this species being common in Australia, little is understood about them. This is quite an issue for the conservation of many insects around the world. We just don't know enough about creepy crawlies!

Georgina Gould-Hardwick's limited edition 'Nyssus coloripes' prints are some of the the first works for sale on the new website. These delightful prints will brighten up any room. Each edition is printed using an etching press and delicately hand coloured with pencil. 

​All editions are numbered, signed and dated by the artist.

Paralastor species (Potter Wasp), 2021.

Paralastor is a large genus of wasp in Australia (which means there are a lot of different species of Paralastor found in Australia).

Species in the Paralastor genus are commonly called Potter Wasps because they build impressive vessel shaped nests with clay and plant material. They also provision their nest with paralyzed insects for the larva to survive on once hatched.

Xystrocera virescens (Longicorn), 2021.

Xystrocera virescens is otherwise known as the Large Brown Longhorn or Longicorn Beetle (due to their extremely long antennae and the adults growing to impressive sizes). The larvae of these stunning beetles love boring their way through tree stems and trunks. This life size print portrays just how large X. virescens can grow. Commonly found in eastern Australia.

'Pinara', 2021.

There are four different species of Pinara found throughout the eastern states of  Australia, and they all look very similar. Females are larger than males, pale coloured, with an arch of orange coloured spots over the wings, as well as tiny black and white striped legs. The males are smaller than the females, and are decorated with a wonderful array of dark browns and greys. 

Georgina Gould-Hardwick's limited edition 'Pinara' prints, are created using non-toxic water-based ink and are coloured by hand using pencil. These adorable prints are perfect for any home, office or space in need of some interest.

Dimensions: 270mm x 260mm (Height x Width).

All editions are numbered, signed and dated by the artist.
